updated 1/17/09 Puppies going to great homes! Yours?

Well bred pups to well prepared homes. This has been a very satisfying journey! 2 pups remain to be placed, and there is no doubt the owners are out there. Contact us soon, these pups are selling themselves. Pups are now 10wks old. They are basically housetrained, had their 1st & 2nd shots w/out reaction, and are happy and healthy eating exclusively dry kibble, (Purina Puppy Chow and IAM's Smart Puppy Chow mix).

pup's 1st portraits @ 5+weeks

Below; Puppy No. 5 - 'Hugo' (just waking up) This petite male is observant and independant, well proportioned and coordinated.Has a bit of stinker in him, when there's a scuffle going on there's a 50/50 chance that Hugo will be right in there. He will be a thing of beauty running in the fields! Interesting white star/plate on forehead,may stay or grey out. Below; Puppy No. 6 - 'Suites' female is really sure on her feet, nice markings and a good disposition, one of the larger pups now, however that can change as each pup grows. She could be considered 'a snuggler'.Below; Puppy No. 7 - "Windsor"- Male he has become a favorite, very smart and inquisitive, a quick learner - but aren't they all. Nice markings, 5 spots w/ the dark head, he's one of the larger males in the litter. Stong, good lines, as he carries himself. Intelligent and a good eater.Puppy No. 9 (not pictured here) - "Blaze" Female with a straight blaze going down to her little white muzzle. Quick! She can squirm her way on to your lap and be licking/nipping your ears in no time. 5 liver spots and ticked with alert eyes and ears.

Week 5

Whew! Eat , play, and sleep. These little pups are so in tune with the moment. Now at 5 weeks old they are eating wet puppy chow 2X/day with 1 meal of dry chow mid-day they are barely nursing 2X/day. MaMa stands up to nurse. Mama is getting some 1-on-1 time outside the pen. She mouths them, cleans them and mauls them a bit, and all the time the pup is waggin' its tail. Pups are back together in one pen with 2 sleeping areas. They split themselves up and it's interesting to see how. 2Pups are going to homes as surprise Christmas gifts! They must have been good boys! Paper training is going pretty well, I've never picked up so much poo in my life! This training will pay off for the new owners, I hope they appreciate this! Oh yeah, that's what they are paying me for!

WEEK 4+ #7pup with littermates

Pups are now eating softened puppy chow 3 times /day and lovin' it, Mama RyLeigh is still getting into the pens and giving them the chance to nurse 2 times/day, she stands up making it a challenge for those more petite ones. They must be getting enough to be so satisfied and growing.
Most pups are catching on to pee and poo paper training (that everything has it's place) not 100% yet but at 4 1/2 weeks they are doing great!
Ticking is filling in around their liver spots, some are darker than others.
I am breaking the litter into 2 pens now, to familiarize them to different pen organization styles - they seem to find the poo/pee area just fine, and are leaving their sleeping area dry for the most part. This should make transition to new homes easier. Both the photo above and below are of Windsor #7pup- he is the seventh-born puppy. Notice the white tip on his tail.


The puppy below is also a male, nicknamed Berbur (sold 12/11/08)).

Eyes are open, good eaters and growing.

RyLeigh Rose of River Road (Mommy)

Ryleigh Rose of River Road (AKC reg. number: SR01086603) is seven years old Ry has an impressive pedigree in terms of field champions. This is her third and final litter. Beautiful, great disposition, loves to run and work a field as if hunting. Her previous pups (17ct.) have been 100% exceptional family dogs, and at least 50% have been hunted with great satisfaction to their trainer/owners. This photo was taken one day before she whelped 12 healthy puppies (Nov. 5, 2008).
